Leaving Seattle at 3:30 on Friday of Memorial Day weekend seemed like a bad idea. I knew that if we wanted to have some fun and beat the crowds, we would need to go somewhere close, but also somewhere out of town. As much as I can’t wait to have a bonfire at Golden Gardens or something that all of the locals seem to enjoy, I keep heading East to the mountains. I was looking for the trailhead for Mt. Si, but putting “Mt. Si trailhead” into the map app in my phone led me to the Little Si trailhead. Either way, we were hiking. The Lando dog needed an adventure, so we went for it.
There is apparently some decent rock climbing out here at the Little Si. Remembering a lifetime ago when I was into that sort of thing, I was intrigued.
One of the things that I can’t get over is how fucking green everything is out here. I love Colorado and always will, but these lush forests are nothing like anything I have seen since Hawai’i. I see why people say that the northwest is so beautiful.
I love the Photosynth app. It takes great panorama pictures. But it makes me take pictures all of the time. This trail is awesome. Not long or strenuous, like Goldilocks, it is just right.
Lots of water, lots of mud. Bridges help to cross the too marshy areas. Photo highlights courtesy of the Camera Plus app.
The best picture of the summit of Little Si. These survey markers intrigue me. I always think that they are so cool.
In other news, school is nearly finished this quarter. Human Nutrition and Anatomy and Physiology 1 are about to be owned. I feel like a doctor due to all of the knowledge that I have acquired from this quarter. I just need to finish the next couple of weeks strong and I will be ready for summer. More fishing needs to occur.
